One of the malts, which are mainly used for blending purposes, is Glentauchers. The distillery was built in 1897 and contributes to well known blends like Buchanan and Black&White. Official bottlings are rare (there was one on the French market in the 80s/90s), and this bottle is part of the "Allied Six" series (together with Glenburgie, Glencadam, Imperial, Miltonduff and Tormore). The whisky has a nice spicy and cereal, malty nose, which makes it an easy to enjoy dram. By this time, the actual owner Allied Distillers is being sold, questioning the future of the distillery - hopefully, the fate is not "mothballing" or worse.
