By far the largest region, it covers the lonesome, romantic north with a handful of distilleries, over the touristic well discovered Western and Central Highlands to the eastcoast.
Style is varying over such distance, but maybe - as a rough rule -
one could say, that going southeast, the whisky loses peat and smoke,
and wins fruity and cereal tones.
