Undoubted the heart of the whisky industry, this area is home of over 50 distilleries along the famous rivers Lossie, Spey and Livet in the west as far as to Aberdeen at the eastcoast. Fruity aromas, sometimes lots of sherry, hints of smoke and peat often make a very complex but round whisky. Many of the famous names found here stand for the beginning of "whisky lover careers" - like mine, starting up with Knockando.
